ReLead

- remote leadership with real-world impact

PngItem_4135181.pngThe Coronavirus made us try new things, now it is time to leverage the new normal. You worked from home, now train from home. Not like before with long days in class or behind glass, but in new ways, in brief, high-impact encounters with your colleagues and an unusual program.

It is time to ReLead, to reinvent your leadership and perform remotely

ReLead leverages best practices of both classroom and remote engagements - from live exercises and peer pressure to digital interactions. You can not join alone, as you'll need a learning buddy to hold your feet to the fire. And you will likely need to expand your digital toolbox...

Fellow Leaders with Disperse Teams

ReLead is designed for leaders with a minimum of 2-3 years experience, giving you solid experiences - both to share and to improve. You have the responsibility to make team members perform from different locations, and with the Coronavirus you now face the added challenge of also having to lead from home. As you need to deliberately develop your team, it is also time to have your own best practices discussed by fellow leaders and by internationally validated tools and concepts.

ReLead Flow - Class, Squares & Live Application

After registration you'll go through an intake, where you describe your situation and your challenges. You'll also score yourself on essential leadership requirements and be asked to prepare a short video introduction. This marks a starting point for yourself, and for your learning buddy as well as for the entire class via the aggregation done by your facilitator.

The full class of 12-16 participants meet every other week for 90 minutes of live, highly interactive learning exchanges. There are pre-reads and post-class discussions with your local 4-person BuddySquare. Essential concepts and tools are covered on summarizing leadership postcards that you'll have free access to on LeapCards.net. Included online is also the Live-With-Team exercises where you will be asking your work colleagues and direct reports to give you live feedback.

Half-way through, all BuddySquares meet with the facilitator to align objectives and prepare for the closing commitment ceremony, where guests are invited and commitments recorded.

Consortium? Option to send full BuddySquares from the same company in order to experience the best of in-company focus with open-program inspiration from other consortium partners.

Seven High-Impact Workshops

ReLead will strengthen your interpersonal leadership by allowing you to discover and prioritize your motivation. By increasing your understanding of effective delegation and follow-up with good feedback, without causing conflict. And when they do happen, without letting conflicts grow beyond a quick return to normal. You find new ways of serving your team as it works for you across cultures, in projects and through times of change.

All this happens through a sequence of seven essential workshops:

  1. Team & Process – appreciating new ways of working and learning together
  2. Remote Leadership – staying connected & productive at a distance
  3. Leading Self – values, purpose, prioritization and work/home life balance
  4. Leading Others – communication, listening, delegation and follow-up
  5. Leading Teams – sharing performance and leveraging across cultures
  6. Leading Business – leading deliberate projects and dealing with change
  7. Commitment – keeping promises and planning to perform, for all parties

Full syllabus, used cards and mapping to LeapCards are available for academies and potential consortium partners.

Three Months, Start to Finish

To keep the tension, all seven workshops fall within a three month period, typically planned with a 6-8 week lead to allow for all participants to clear their calendars. If you have to miss a session, your BuddySquare will recap for you - as you will do for them.

Intakes, preparations, sessions, meetings and the live-with-team events adds to a total workload of typically 2-3 hours per week and a planned minimum of 6 full days dedicated to the program.

For more in-depth questions - like the ones typically raised during breaks or after class - you have the option to book an already included, one-on-one 45 minute session with the facilitator.

You must have a good, fluent English, a recent computer (no more than 2 years old, with good camera, microphone and fast internet).

Deep Roots & Strong References

The foundation of ReLead is "Unplugged Leadership" from 2012. Since 2014, the book has served as the backbone of TRAIL, which De Baak in Holland is hosting roughly twice per year and will resume when international travel is effortless again.

The content have been continuously updated and made available in advanced formats from place mats to games and playing cards. The current format of the unique physical leadership postcards have been appreciated since 2017.

The full list of participant recommendations are available at De Baak - and by clicking on the image here. A few of the personal statements are also included below:

TRAIL Recommendations 2017-2020 - sidebyside
  • BlueBehavior

“Very intense program with a good balance between theory, video examples and group exercises. There were definitely a few aha-momonts and I have identified a few areas where I will work on in a targeted way. Both professionally and in my private life.”

    Global Program Manager, uniQure

  • BlueBehavior

“Amazingly broad and complete leadership program. The majority of the concepts can be applied almost imidiately in the workplace. Ulrik Ramsing makes it clear how to engage with your team members and colleagues in different situations/conversations. The tech/new way of working is a nice addition, that probably not many courses offer.”

    Investment Manager, ENECO Energie

  • BlueBehavior

“Fantastic use of technology, insights how to use technology effectively in new ways of working.”

Head of Mechanical & CAD Engineering Department, Stamicarbon

  • BlueBehavior

“Very intensive and personal training adjusted to the needs of the participants.
Great set of tools are learned in a short period, that can be used immediately in my day to day work. Great Trainer.”

    Engineering Manager at Jacobs

  • BlueBehavior

“The program enabled me to recognize orchestrated music instead of sounds of noise. We did not try to dive into theoretical concepts and “grand studies”, rather focused on our own small and big challenges and problems.”

    Chief Investment Officer, NN Investment

  • BlueBehavior

“This has been a real eye-opener for me. I feel like all this time I was blinded with ignorance and unawareness. Halfway throughout the training, I felt being empowered with the tools that I can use to bring myself and others towards the goal. There will always be problems with work and leadership, and they will not be easy, but there are always ways to get over them.”

    Software Test Engineer at Ultimaker

  • BlueBehavior

“The format of the training is excellent. Lots of hands-on exercises and meaningful discussions. Really liked the way that “slides” were created during the session. ”

Director of Product Development at Five Degrees

  • BlueBehavior

“I found the course very informative. The topics were relevant to me and the settings and structure were both excellent. Ulrik Ramsing was also very engaging and made the experience fun and interactive. I would highly recommend the course to others”

Engaging Process on Digital Platform

Each live session offers a high impact combination of learning materials. The focus is on dialogue and generously sharing new ideas from each other through vicarious learning. The agenda and key concepts are presented in highly visual and fast paced slides, which are supported by open votes and spontaneous interventions. Unlimited whiteboards are used to share perspectives, create new ideas, and to make sure not only that we undertand each other but also that we become increasingly ready to go back and lead our teams remotely in new and inspiring ways.

The ReLead platform is an interconnected portfolio of best-of-in-class, proven solutions, all licensed and included in the seat-price by BlueBehavior. In order of appearance, the list includes Typeform, GoToTraining, and Klaxoon. And, of course, the LeapCards in Thinkific. Optional and class-driven demo detours frequently includes Mentimeter, Miro, Trello, Youtube, Vimeo, Simplero and Teams if not Zoom. Behind the scenes, Zapier, Integromat and Knack are keeping scores checked and services synchronized.

Optional Real-world Materials

While ReLoad is designed to run 100% online,  there are real-world physical hardcopies if you like pen on paper - perhaps to spontaneously share key ideas with your team?

Leadership Postcards

A complete ReLead deck of Leadership Postcards is available as a bundle in a robust 4x6 plastic box

Study Guides

The A4-sized Study Guide bundle holds a copy of the "Live With Team" exercises from LeapCards.net for a more conventional (but far less automated) feedback process

Slide Deck

Right before the Commitment session, all key slides are ready as an A5 spiral-bound booklet.

ReLead Partnerships & Consortium Classes

As a proven program, ReLead have been applied in most regions of the world. With the Coronavirus and the build-in capacity to deploy remotely, the requests for ReLead has increased to the point where professional partnerships are more than welcome! The level of integration depends on the experience of the intended facilitators - almost anything is possible; from turn-key to co-facilitation with existing partners and/or internal trainers, who may be offered pre-qualifying remote facilitation in specialized train-the-trainer workshops.

Presently all ReLead classes are arranged as Consortium Classes. Organizations with groups of four participants submit these as potential BuddySquares for the stand-by list. Non-profit organisations and NGOs already working with the BlueBehavior Foundation may create a BuddySquare using two representatives from two separate organizations - as long as the four participants are working closely together in their local region. When there is a match of four organizations with mutually inspiring BuddySquares, the class is offered and scheduled with a set of eight proposed dates.
